Soündless Posted February 3, 2007 Share Posted February 3, 2007 i was wondering if i could instal vista ultimate on a firewire 800 drive, i couldnt in xp because i had to put it on the main hard drive, is this the same in vista? erbic Posted February 5, 2007 Share Posted February 5, 2007 Unfortunately, you cannot. The Vista installer will not allow you to select a partition on an external drive to install on. It says something to the tune of "Vista cannot be installed on a volume on an external drive." Sucks, but hey, it's M$. What do you expect? I'm still trying to work out how I'm gonna get the 64-bit version of Vista on my MBP.
