Sorry guys; i have the exact problem same as yours

But you cannot find the answer around here becuase i tried to ask it in a hundred different style

but had no working answer because noone knows a solution around this BECAUSE our mobos

have this damn s**t Jmicron chip and we cannot boot X86 install DVD in that situation.

Unless you get rid of your P965 mobo or use external USB optical drive you cannot install OS X 86

I hate the day i decided to buy a p965 mobo

HEY I KILLED OS X 86!!!!!

ME {censored}!!!!!!! :)

GOOD NEWS: there is a so called Jmicron patch.

BAD NEWS: It doesn't work!!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Yeah, the Jmicron patch didn't work for me either, but installing using the VMWare method worked rather well and your CD/DVD drive will be recognized upon install - haven't tried burning with it yet, but the profiler recognizes it, so should work as well.

I also have this problem on a Gateway MA6 notebook (late 2006)

Running VMware Server 1.0.1

CPU = Intel Core Duo T2500 Yonah at dual 2.00GHz

MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3

2 cores, 2 threads

L2 Cache = 2048k

Motherboard = Gateway (unknown model)

Chipset = Intel i945GM

Southbridge = Intel 82801GM (ICH7-M DH)

BIOS = Phoenix Technologies VTD 71.08 (dated 08/21/2006)

2x 512MB DDR2 PC2-4300 RAM

640MB allocated to x86 in VMware

Using the JAS 10.4.6 image (ISO)

Using image directly from computer (not burned DVD)

Using 1 processors

Get the following upon boot:

Darwin/x86 bot v5.0.132

639MB memory

VESA v2.0 16MB (V M ware, Inc. VBE support 2.0)

Use (up|down) keys to select the startup volume

hd(31,1) Mac OS X Install Disc x86

Press Enter to start up Darwin/x86 with no options, or you can:

Type -v and press Enter to start up with diagnostic options

Type ? and press Enter to learn about advanced start up options

Once install begins, (with or without -v flag) Apple logo page loads for under a second. System then reboots to VMware BIOS. Cycles through above sequence several times, then exits to the following:

System config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found

----------------

How can I fix this?

I would like to try Mac OS X on x86 before purchasing a MacBook so I know exactly how I can expect it to work.

I do not believe I have any Jmicron chips. I also do not have an external DVD drive, but if you can guarantee it to work,

I will certainly consider it.

One other thing you could try is to make sure, when you partition the disk you're going to install OS X onto, that you ensure you create only one big partition. Choose '1 partition' in Disk Utility. I think I may have had two partitions (one tiny one, and one big one - the default) when I got this problem before.

hei man that problem happen to me when i saw apple log it stop and vmware restart why thattttttttt System config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found :):thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim::thumbsdown_anim:

Guys, i solved the problem already. For me, i had the same problem with you guys. Cant get it to boot on a DVD. Same error message.

I figured out setting slave and master settings on my drive and it doesn't work. Suddenly i taught of RAID and SATA. Because my motherboard only has one primary IDE, i took the DVD Drive from IDE 2 and connect with the HDD together. I set the drive to SLAVE. in this case, it can read already. And im typing this while the apple is loading for installation :rolleyes:
