So I used the OS X Disk Utility while in the installation menu to format my hard drive to MS-DOS (FAT32 right?) and it isn't available on the list of volumes to install os x to. What am I doing wrong? AFAIK you can install OSX to a fat32 filesystem right? It simply isn't on the list of avaible places to install :P

Also, I understand that anything running of a cd / dvd is slow esp. fancy GUI stuff but why does it take so long to reboot?? i basically had to press reset after it took so long.

I wanted FAT32 to transfer files i download on windows to my mac drive! I cant do this with HFS+ because i dont own macdrive and the trial got F*((* and expired. also transmac doesnt see the drive. period.

Any help would be appreciated. :D Flames just keep it to yourself as I'm new to all this.

my rig:

AMD Athlon 64 3500

Asus A8N-Sli Deluxe

Geforce 7800 GT OC (BFG)

2 GIg Geil Value RAm pc3200

Antec 500w PSU

windows xp sp2 on 120 gig sata drive

os x generic dvd on 80 gig

If your just downloading files on Windows and trying to transfer them to Mac, just access your NTFS partition in Mac and copy them over like that. Or maybe you could try and create a shared partition for data transfer.
