Dima Posted January 31, 2007 Share Posted January 31, 2007 Hi, I got a mac G4 off my mate and irs got 9.1 OS on it and im trying to install OS X 10.4.6 which I have a copy of. I think I have PPC version. But it will not boot from the DVD disc. When I press option button during boot it only comes up with macintosh hdd. Also it takes a very long time to get OS 9 started. Sits on the desktop for about 5 minutes at least before I can click anything, any ideas? asap18 Posted January 31, 2007 Share Posted January 31, 2007 First of all, do you have a dvd drive? And you need to be sure its a ppc install disc otherwise it will not boot. Dima Posted February 1, 2007 Author Share Posted February 1, 2007 Im sure it is a PPC as the image was .DMG when I first got it. I have x86 version as well and it boots off that no problem but will not go further than APPLE LOGO screen.
