InnoTek VirtualBox is a family of powerful x86 virtualization products for enterprise as well as home use. Not only is VirtualBox an extremely feature rich, high performance product for enterprise customers, it is also the only professional solution that is freely available as Open Source Software under the terms of the GNU Public License (GPL).

Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows and Linux 32-bit hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4 and 2.6), and OpenBSD.

See screenshot of working operating system. My oh my! Do I see OS X?:thumbsup_anim:

I've installed the Edgy version and to my surprise, it's actaully faster than VMware and Parallels for Linux. Boot time for WindowsXP guest is considerably faster (less than 10 seconds) and guest gui is much more fluid than it's competitors. For an application just released over a week ago, it's good step in the right direction.

No one ever said getting anything to run under linux is painless for the novice. The user manual and a search in google will help you get enough information to get all install dependencies and your USB devices running. I was able to successfully install my EXT USB drive, PocketPC, USB bluetooth dongle, and Intel Webcam.

Enjoy!

Tried it under win xp wih slax and yes it did feel pretty fluid, about as fast as parallels workstaion I would say. Intresting with more players out there in the virtualization world. And I would love to see a machine booting OS X as Vmware does but at this speed. Impressive.
