brianbwlim
With PearPC 0.4 pre, it runs. Convert DMG to ISO with UltraISO. And then Install with PearPC 0.4pre. (6G HD Image, Memory 512M, G4 emulation, No network) Minimize installing package to save time. It may take 2 hours. EtherealRemnant
Yeah, a few of us figured this out already. Its pretty useless though... Can't do anything with it, really. brianbwlim
PearPC emulates PerwerPC processrors. However, OSX X86 runs on it. Then maybe much of the OSX x86 code itself runs in x86 binaries. But there is no TPM checking within PearPC. My conjecture is like this: If we just change some part for checking routine inside OSX kernel to make it believe system as PowerPC, then whole OSX x86 may be run in VMWare and Native mode. Just wild guess!!!! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4048-1043-dvd-install-and-runs-in-pearpc/#findComment-26166 Share on other sites
brianbwlim
And another observation: Spotlight inside PearPC is always busy in making index. And the CPU usage is always 100%. So, I removed AppleTPMACPI.kext and restarted. It looks like CPU usage gets down! seanbperiod
i thought that the 10.4.3 dvd includes installations for both ppc and osx86 versions.. perhaps they share some of the same files, but i doubt theres much you could do with a pearpc installation Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4048-1043-dvd-install-and-runs-in-pearpc/#findComment-26288 Share on other sites
