tristan.oneil
Is there a huge advantage to buying a SSE3 capable processor. I now have a Athlon 64 with only SSE2 instructions. Should I go ahead and buy a Athlon Processor with SSE3 instructions, how much will it improove my OSX86 experience. Thanks, Tristan Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40373-sse2-vs-sse3/ Share on other sites
hecker
Hey there, I too have a SSE2 64bit Athlon CPU and I am getting one with SSE3 soon. I haven't been able to find any references comparing the both but a newer CPU with a non emulated SSE2 will surely be much faster then ours. Apparently the emulated SSE2 will make your CPU run like a G4 in comparison. I will post my benchmark results here as soon as I get the new CPU. Cheers, hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40373-sse2-vs-sse3/#findComment-290929 Share on other sites
