first off. what chipset does it use?

mac supports atheros, broadcom and ralink.

atheros and broadcomm cards need editing of the appropriate plugin in the IO80211Family.kext and ralink chipsets need the ewest ralink drivers from the ralink site to work.

figure out the chipset then look for its device and vendor id and post them here and we can help a bit more

okay i was abit bored so here it is:

it uses an atheros chipset, and you will need to input this into the info.plist of the atheros plugin in the IO80211Family.kext

>168c,0013</

>168c,13</

little more info when i can actually look at the kext :D

168c is an Atheros chip and is supported as Airport. Mine is 0013 as well and it works great.

1. Open IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortAtheros5424.kext/Contents/Info.plist with text editor.

2. Find below key

<key>IONameMatch</key>

3. Blow IONameMatch, revise the String Section to below

<string>pci168c,13</string>

4. Repair permissions

5. Reboot

Or just replace IO80211Family.kext with the one in Apple 10.4.5 combo update.

you may need to go into the networkinterfaces.plist and change the airport's bsd name from en1 to en0

you can find the NetworkInterfaces.plist here:

your HD> Library> Preferences> SystemConfiguration> NetworkInterfaces.plist

and change the bsd name for the airport from en1 to en0 then save it then repair your disk permissions.
