Hi Guys,

After spending several days and nights with installing the MacOS on the notebook, I think it's time to write all the experiences down. The system is stable but I haven't all drivers properly installed yet. Hope this will be done soon...

10.4.8 System

The only DVD that worked for me was JaS 10.4.8 AMD Intel SSE2 SSE3. In customized installation procedure the following options have to be chosen:

- Printer Drivers (if you need some of them)

- Addional Fonts (if you like)

- X11 (if you like)

- JaS Intel 10.4.8 ATA kext

No other options are required.

Video

At the moment all tries to get the video card running properly with OpenGL failed. The system has an ATI Mobility FireGL 5250 with 256MB of RAM built in (Manufacturer ID: 1002, Model-Id: 0x71d4). At the kernel boot prompt only 16MB will be shown, but the Mac Infobox shows the correct value.

So the actual Natit.ktext and ATINDrv.ktext with all tried patches unfortunately don't work.

But the display size can be corrected by patching the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist

Just insert the following code after all entries (but before closing the XML statement):

<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1400x1050x32</string>

Audio

To get the built in Intel High Definition Audio card to work, just run the attached installer (Conexant High Definition Audio) and reboot.

LAN

The Intel Pro 1000 LAN card will work without problems without the need of an additional driver.

WLAN

At the moment there is no possibility to get the built in Intel 3945abg working. There are several threads in the forum and I hope news are coming soon

The problem with writing a T60p guide is that there are many different T60p configurations - most with nothing in common.

It would be helpful if you specific your exact model number. I am using a 2008-66M (the last character is only the keyboard layout identified and M is the global /English layout).

Version - Jas 10.4.8 with Jas Combo Update and the Login Window update. Nothing else.

Audio - working with instructions found in the forums

Video (ATI x1400)- working at 1400x1050 on the LCD and also outputs to external monitor. Haven't tried dual display. I think I used the 10.4.5 ATI drivers and modified the PCI HW ID.

Power Management - working battery status

LAN - worked out of the box

Bluetooth - not working

Wireless (Intel 3945abg) - not working but iwi2200 driver is being developed

Hi,

I got a T43p, with a FireGL v3200, and it works with QE/CI.

You need to follow this solution, maybe it could works for you :

Hello, no it doesn't work, FireGL isn't ATI Radeon 9700 chip, but X1700...

Hi All,

Thought I'd update this since I have very similar hardware to that of hemzet (and thanks for providing the information you did!)

I'm adding this because I just wanted to say that using mac.nub's 10.4.10 (v1r5) release, I was able to get "most" things working pretty much out of the box.

Before anyone gets too excited, I don't have a QE/CI-enabled graphics solution. Sorry!

Here is my hardware in some detail:

- Intel Core2 Duo T5600

- 1GB/100GB RAM/Disk

- 14.1" display (1400x1050 max resolution I think)

- Atheros AR5212/Intel Mini PCI-E wireless

- Yadda, yadda yadda.

I installed to an external USB disk, just because I wanted to keep Linux on the internal drive (at least for now!) I do believe the internal SATA drive is supported.

For the install, I selected (in addition to what was already selected)

Video->ATI->ATI Mobility (graphics came up in 1024x768) hemzet's fix in first post of this thread got me the higher resolution.

Audio->Azalia audio option

Network->10.4.5 IO80211Family (for wireless. Wired networking worked for me out of the box.)

I also added the optional 'Insomnia' PowerManagement and ... (ATI Tool? At any rate, it's the only other option).

I hope this info helps someone else out! :( If anyone does ever find a way to get QE/CI working for this card, kindly add a post here. Thanks!
