fragreaver
Hey everybody. I tried iLife '06 a few weeks before, but I removed it, because I had no sound in any application. After a few research I reinstalled again and guess what; it (iLife) only switched the output from 2ch to 6ch. So if I change channels again after install, the sound works normal. BUT! Any iLife application (at least, I think so) changes it back to 6ch again at some point. So, the main question is: How do I prevent Applications from changing system-wide settings? I already tried to set some plist (com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist in /Library/Preferences, to be specific) read-only or change the owner. But nothing worked. Any Suggestions? I'd really like to use iLife without this hazzling Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38913-ilife-and-the-no-sound-problem-after-install/ Share on other sites
Scotty geek
Well one thing that worked for me. Try putting your speakers in a diffrent jack. That is a quick fix.. I know that there is a post about applemidi fix that will get you to switch it back to 2 ch. I my speakers are now in the mic jack and they are working, no more changing of channels.
