It will evtl. run like every system without the integrated graphic from Intel: No QE & no OpenGL . If you take one, choose a model with a supported audio-card, for network you can choose a WLAN USB stick if nothing else works. Better take fully supported hardware i915G chipset with i900GMA if you really want to run all applications at your OSX86 (DVD Fullscreen, 3D ect...) Works well on a Compaq nx9020 with integrated intel graphic and a realtek network card. Only thing not working is sound Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/3795-laptops/#findComment-24266 Share on other sites
nothingness
Sony Vaio TX1-XP works fine: 900GMA graphics chipset so Quartz Extreme & Core Image work (although you have to go through the external monitor hack at each boot for the time being). Sound works, so does network (intel e100 ). I'm currently triple booting Gentoo Linux, Mac OS X Intel & Win XP Pro on it. DVD Burner is recognized too. The only thing that doesn't work is the integrated ipw2200 wifi card. I guess that'll be supported fairly soon. Otherwise it runs really well and I'd say this laptop puts most Apple hardware to shame in style and power. colorfuel
Up until now Fujitsu- Siemens Amilo 1630 doesnt want to boot into the installer. Havent tryed copying a VMware image just yet, to see if that method works. But I'm running OSX in VMware, it kinda works, I even get sound and network. jOnArBeItEn
Hallo, I just succeeded to install 10.4.4 with 5 update by Myzar in my Benq Joybook S72 in a dual boot with windows xp. Works fine, with audio, and lan perfect without workarounds. I still could not test the wifi card. Only issues: I get only for the moment one graphics resolution: 1024x768 and I don't know how to deactivate the darwin boot. When the computer boots I chosse Mac OS X (chain0) in the windows bootloader and then it shows darwin loader, but if I don't press anything it returns to boot.ini stuff Intel Pentium M processor 740 @ 1.73GHz with 2MB On-Die L2 cache (Dothan) Mobile Intel 915PM Express chipset 512MB DDR2 14-inch WXGA wide-screen TFT (1280 x 768 pixels) 200 nits brightness ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600 64MB DDR VRAM Hitachi Travelstar PATA 5K80 (HTS548060M9AT00) 60GB 5,400RPM 8MB Buffer Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC Intel PRO/Wireless 2200bg (802.11b/g) Wireless LAN Full-duplex 16-bit stereo speaker Compatible with AC97 2.2 Hope it helps (my first post) Resolution and Battery display fixed.
