I'm not the expert to be helping you at all, but I'll at least think about it a bit. I'm sure others like RammJet will be able to help -- they could probably fix it in a second, but I'll think about it a bit for now... what is the setup of your HD (which partition of which disk (if you have more than one) is OS X)?

Sorry I don't know more, but I'll try.

Oooook, as I said, I'm seriously NO expert on this, but I am pretty sure I read JUST the other day that there were serious problems booting from three different disks. I had read that it was much better to boot from one HD with different partitions. Again, I say that not knowing anything about it, really. I'll look around later on tonight (when the boredom/not able to sleep hits and I need something to occupy my mind). Right now, I've got to eat.

Make sure you check around the forum a bit, and also, I highly recommend looking around the IRC rooms to see if anyone can help you.

That's the link to the "chat" page for the forum, where you can find the IRC rooms and get real-time support from some more knowledgeable people. Note that those more knowledgable people are also a part of the forum a lot of the time... I'm just saying that between the two resources, you should find an expert pretty quickly!

in bios, i can set the order of boot, and i can only put one hard drive on the boot order. i had only 2 pluged in for a while, and the problem was still there.

Yikes, this thread scares me! Mac "sage" floundering with this issue... My current system is 3 drives with a different OS on each. One has two on it. I install the OS's on the drives with ONLY that drive on the system. At the end, I attach them all and use the Bios to choose the drive and with exception of the one with two OS's on it, they just boot to what's on them. The one that is split is Vista and Ubuntu in that order. That one boots to Grub and you again have to choose an OS. No problems with this at all.

Your BIOS should see all of the drives that you attach to the motherboard. It isn't OS dependent. It is ROM dependent on the circuitry of the drive. IF it doesn't, I would attach each drive individually and look for it. If it still didn't, I would reformat those drives and look again or try to put an OS on them and then look. No drives would equal dead drive or serious main board problems.
