bluedragon1971
hope this helps http://www.intel.com/support/notebook/sb/cs-006006.htm "Note: The Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection uses a PCIe Mini Card connector, which is a different physical connector and electrical interface compared to older adapters, which use a miniPCI connector. Therefore, the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection cannot be used as a replacement for your Intel PRO/Wireless 2100/2100A/2200BG/2915ABG Network Connection because it will not fit or connect." I'm pretty sure that the people working on the driver are aware of such basic information about the card. bluedragon1971
I've tried installing the patched BIOS update and I've tried installing iwi3945. The BIOS update didn't do anything noticeable except made my mouse freakout randomly. People around here REALLY need to F***ING learn to read, especially when using something like a BIOS update. ALL the BIOS update is designed to do is removing the whitelist in the dv6000 BIOS that prevents you from using a different, OS X compatible, wireless card in these laptops. I have specifically stated this over and over again, but you are the second ignorant person around here who, for some unknown reason, thought it was supposed to magically make the Intel wireless card work in OS X. auqs10
OK bluedragon1971, so is hopeless? No solution for the problem? What about runing fine and smooth by using a Kubuntu Live CD. So much difference, that can not be solved only by changing in kernel? See this page https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardwareS...tworkCardsIntel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/110/#findComment-443759 Share on other sites
bluedragon1971
OK bluedragon1971, so is hopeless? No solution for the problem? I said nothing of the kind, I simply said that my BIOS patch is not intended to fix the problem but to bypass it by allowing dv6000 and dv9000 owners to use a different card. auqs10
Hi Jalavoui, here are the logs of the version 509, that not gives a panic in the system launch. I don't know where are the logs of the kubuntu system in order to send you those related to ipw3945. I have to mention that I haven't installed kubuntu, but the system launched LIVE from CD activates the wireless card, then user is asked what network to connect to immediately after system boot. Can someone tell me how to do it? Uploading is not working???? I am attaching the logs as inline text below. dmesg.txt iwi3945: Trying to turn card off... iwi3945: radio off CSR_UCODE_DRV_GP1 0x0 CSR_UCODE_DRV_GP2 0x0 rfkill 0x1 iwi3945: ipw going down iwi3945: ipw3945_rxq_stop iwi3945: gra WARNING: Requesting MAC access during RFKILL wakes up NICiwi3945: gra Wait for complete power-down, gpctl = 0x080003c5 iwi3945: gra WARNING: Requesting MAC access during RFKILL wakes up NICiwi3945: gra Wait for complete power-down, gpctl = 0x080003c5 iwi3945: nic_stop master iwi3945: ipw_nic_reset iwi3945: gra WARNING: Requesting MAC access during RFKILL wakes up NICiwi3945: gra Wait for complete power-down, gpctl = 0x080003c1 iwi3945: 0 frames on pre-allocated heap on clear. iwi3945: RFKILL base status: 0x1 iwi3945: Trying to turn card on... iwi3945: radio on CSR_UCODE_DRV_GP1 0x0 CSR_UCODE_DRV_GP2 0x0 rfkill 0x1 iwi3945: ipw_up iwi3945: Intialize power iwi3945: adjust power command flags iwi3945: HW Revision ID = 0x2 iwi3945: ipw3945_nic_set_pwr_src iwi3945: ALM-MM type iwi3945: ipw_eeprom_init_sram iwi3945: SKU OP mode is basic iwi3945: 3945ABG revision is 0xF1 iwi3945: Card M type B version is 0x2 iwi3945: SW RF KILL supported in EEPROM. iwi3945: HW RF KILL supported in EEPROM. iwi3945: ipw_rx_queue_reset iwi3945: ipw_rx_queue_update_write_ptr iwi3945: ipw_rx_init iwi3945: ipw_queue_reset iwi3945: ipw_tx_reset iwi3945: ipw_queue_init iwi3945: ipw_queue_init iwi3945: ipw_queue_init iwi3945: ipw_queue_init iwi3945: ipw_queue_init iwi3945: ipw_queue_init iwi3945: nic_init done iwi3945: ipw_load_ucode iwi3945: 3945ABG card ucode download is good iwi3945: ipw_load_ucode iwi3945: 3945ABG card ucode download is good iwi3945: bootstrap data image size is 32768 iwi3945: bootstrap image in DATA memory is good iwi3945: bootstrap instruction image size is 2668 iwi3945: bootstrap image in INSTRUCTION memory is good iwi3945: 3945ABG HW Version 0.0.241 iwi3945: 3945ABG PBA Number D26444007 iwi3945: EEPROM_ANTENNA_SWITCH_TYPE is 0x01 iwi3945: MAC address: 00:19:d2:3c:83:c0 iwi3945: RFKILL base status: 0x0 iwi3945: Trying to turn card off... iwi3945: radio off CSR_UCODE_DRV_GP1 0x0 CSR_UCODE_DRV_GP2 0x0 rfkill 0x0 iwi3945: ipw going down iwi3945: ipw3945_rxq_stop iwi3945: gra WARNING: Requesting MAC access during RFKILL wakes up NICiwi3945: gra Wait for complete power-down, gpctl = 0x000003c5 iwi3945: gra WARNING: Requesting MAC access during RFKILL wakes up NICiwi3945: gra Wait for complete power-down, gpctl = 0x000003c5 iwi3945: nic_stop master iwi3945: ipw_nic_reset iwi3945: gra WARNING: Requesting MAC access during RFKILL wakes up NICiwi3945: gra Wait for complete power-down, gpctl = 0x000003c1 iwi3945: 0 frames on pre-allocated heap on clear. iwi3945: RFKILL base status: 0x1 iwi3945: Trying to turn card on... iwi3945: radio on CSR_UCODE_DRV_GP1 0x0 CSR_UCODE_DRV_GP2 0x0 rfkill 0x1 iwi3945: ipw_up iwi3945: Intialize power iwi3945: adjust power command flags iwi3945: HW Revision ID = 0x2 iwi3945: ipw3945_nic_set_pwr_src iwi3945: ALM-MM type iwi3945: ipw_eeprom_init_sram iwi3945: SKU OP mode is basic iwi3945: 3945ABG revision is 0xF1 iwi3945: Card M type B version is 0x2 iwi3945: SW RF KILL supported in EEPROM. iwi3945: HW RF KILL supported in EEPROM. iwi3945: ipw_rx_queue_reset iwi3945: ipw_rx_queue_update_write_ptr iwi3945: ipw_rx_init iwi3945: ipw_queue_reset iwi3945: ipw_tx_reset iwi3945: ipw_queue_init iwi3945: ipw_queue_init iwi3945: ipw_queue_init iwi3945: ipw_queue_init iwi3945: ipw_queue_init iwi3945: ipw_queue_init iwi3945: nic_init done iwi3945: ipw_load_ucode iwi3945: 3945ABG card ucode download is good iwi3945: ipw_load_ucode iwi3945: 3945ABG card ucode download is good iwi3945: bootstrap data image size is 32768 iwi3945: bootstrap image in DATA memory is good iwi3945: bootstrap instruction image size is 2668 iwi3945: bootstrap image in INSTRUCTION memory is good iwi3945: 3945ABG HW Version 0.0.241 iwi3945: 3945ABG PBA Number D26444007 iwi3945: EEPROM_ANTENNA_SWITCH_TYPE is 0x01 iwi3945: MAC address: 00:19:d2:3c:83:c0 iwi3945: disconnect system.txt Sep 10 18:53:01 localhost kernel[0]: iwi3945: HW RF KILL supported in EEPROM.
