wow
I have a 19inch lcd now, i need a bigger one. Now i dont watch dvd on my screen so for that i dont have to use a 16±9 screen. What i need is a portrait mode on my screen, that why i never will or cant buy an iMac. Everybody seems to go for a 22-24 inch 16±9 screens, but it seems to me that i have more use for a 20ich or 23-24 inch 4±3 screen ) if they exist. My use, lots of surfing, a bit of photo editing, a little bit of gaming. I dont know or those 22-24 inch screens 19±6 exists with a portrait mode, could be that they are to heavy for that. Any advice here= Edited December 27, 2006 by wow Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36967-new-bigger-lcd-monitor-what-would-you-choose-16%C2%B19-or-4%C2%B13/ Share on other sites

mrks
I bought a Samsung 205BW, 20" widescreen for my MacBook. It doesn't rotate out of the box, but I have an Ergotron monitor desk mount, which lets me rotate the screen 360 degrees if I wanted to. I've been really happy with it, vga and dvi inputs that can switch with a touch of a button, good colour, really sharp and crisp text and 6ms. There might be better 20" monitors, but not for the price I paid. If you really need portrait mode, get a nice monitor and buy a monitor arm. It gives you the freedom to move the monitor any way you want and you get extra desk space. oh yea, FYI most widescreen monitors are 16:10 not 16:9.
