Soündless
people have told me to boot up f8 or -v. every time i press f8 my system just makes a beep as long as i hold the key. when it gets to the point when i have seen other people do it, i cant type anything. most problems i could have fixed by going into single user mode had to be fixed by re-instalation. please help me! McSkywalker
You may have a multimedia keyboard that has a key for locking the f keys in order to enable multimedia shortcuts.. (I have one of those and I have to unlock the f keys every time I need to startup with special options) If so, hit that key once at startup, then start tapping the f8 key (after the post screen). You said "as long as I hold the key". Don't hold it, just hit it several times very quickly. If everything fails, install acronis in order to gain some time to hit the key at startup.
