Cr0t
I d/l the 10.4.7 JaS DVD and I was able to install it on this Pentium 4. From the net I d/l the 10.4.8 JaS SSE2 pkg and installed it (260MB). The system came back after the reboot and then I tried to install the new 8.8.1 kernel, but after the reboot nothing ever happened. This is what I did sudo cp -R mach_kernel/mach_kernel /mach_kernel sudo cp -R mach_kernel/AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext /System/Library/Extensions sudo cp -R mach_kernel/AppleSMBios.kext /System/Library/Extensions sudo cp -R mach_kernel/IOATAFamily.kext /System/Library/Extensions followed by a diskutilil permission repair. Bruce Wang
1. Freshly installed JaS 10.4.7. 2. Applied JaS 10.4.8 SEE2 Combo Update patch and reboot. 3. Copied AppleACPIPlatform.kext, AppleAPIC.kext, IOACPIFamily.kext and IOAudioFamily.kext to desktop. 4. Applied JaS SSE2 Beta9 patch to 10.4.8 SSE2 working installation 5. Before reboot, deleted r2d2, AppleACPIPlatform.kext, AppleAPIC.kext, IOACPIFamily.kext and IOAudioFamily.kext 6. Moved AppleACPIPlatform.kext, AppleAPIC.kext, IOACPIFamily.kext and IOAudioFamily.kext back to Extensions folder 7. Copied Exp6 kernel (ex. mach_kernel.s6) to root and set permission (sudo chown root:wheel mach_kernel.s6 sudo chmod 644 mach_kernel.s6) 8. Repaired disk permissions and prebinding things 9. Reboot with mach_kernel.s6 Bruce Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36454-1047-to-1048-881-upgrade-issues/#findComment-259371 Share on other sites
