mchouin
My laptop fan can get quite loud sometimes, especially after prolonged use in OS X. I don't have any problem with it in Windows XP, and my best guess is that it has to do with CPU throttling. I've tried CPU throttler but that didn't help. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem and knows how to fix it. Markemark
Same here, anychance you are able to switch power sources without freezing? I'm on 10.4.8 on v2000 by the way. mchouin
Nope, i have that problem as well, I'm pretty sure it has to do with our chipset (ATI x200), which, sad to say, is a real big piece of sh*t. A lot of people have problems with this chipset. It seems that it's a pain to get everything to work under OS X. Markemark
I was thinking the same thing(x200), maybe the os trying to dim out the screen. Maybe once the ati x200 is sorted will get our power issues as a bonus. I also believe the audio muting by it self once in a while is also related in some way to video as well, the audio will play without mute indefinitly if I do not use the laptop while iTunes is playing. I guess you got your wireless working as I do, searched around a bit but no luck on spoofing my mac. Have you tried changing your mac? if so please let me know. I'm sorry to go off topic, but I think these threads should be laptop/hardware specific so we can discuss whats working and not and help each other out. CLiDE FTW!!1
What did you guys use for drivers? I'm planning on installing OS X on my V2000. (I have a V2305CA, so I probably need different drivers) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36323-loud-fan-on-compaq-v2610ca-v2000-series/#findComment-268228 Share on other sites
