It has been 5yrs and thought do a fresh and newer OS installation.

Downloaded macOS Sequoia and created a USB installer using createinstallmedia. Everything went fine from booting the USB, formating the current SSD & choosing the target SSD. Until the message popup “internet connection is required to install macOS”

Since i have a my ethernet kext loaded in EFI, i plugged the cable and started the installation again. There was no message this time, looking at the log, its kind of downloading some files & installation went thru.

As far as i recall, there was no need for this back then. Has something changed? How can i bypass the need of internet on a FULL OFFLINE USB INSTALLER?

I think even when using a bootable installer (via USB, for example), the Mac still needs an internet connection during the installation process to obtain firmware information and other hardware model–specific details.
Im not sure, but maybe this starting with Sequoia...
