macOS Tahoe 26.0.1 can be downloaded through the Software Update section of the System Settings app.

According to Apple's release notes, macOS Tahoe 26.0.1 addresses a bug that was preventing Mac Studio machines with an M3 Ultra chip from being upgraded to macOS Tahoe. A failed hardware check was causing macOS Tahoe installation attempts to be aborted, with Mac Studio users ultimately stuck on macOS Sequoia.

‌Mac Studio‌ users who were unable to install macOS Tahoe should now be able to.

In addition to bug fix updates for iOS and macOS, Apple also released minor new updates for tvOS, visionOS, watchOS, and HomePod software.

Trying to update but says my volume can't be downgraded????

Disk greyed out and doing a fresh install? If it is, then either you're using a -no-compat flag or 'skip board id check' with unsupported smbios

I already have Tahoe 26.1 and was trying to update. Yes disk was greyed out but have been using the same 7.1 supported smbios throughout my Tahoe jurney. Gonna re-download the install assistant and try again.

Probably not a surprise, but I had to disable WhateverGreen for the process to complete, then turn it back on for my RX 560 to work correctly again, otherwise I didn't have a functional display. So, no different than installing 26.0.0, though oddly enough, I actually didn't have any WhateverGreen issues installing 26.0.0.

Anyways, if you lock up around ACMTRM messages and use the kext, then it's most likely what's causing it.

Hey LockDown!

I still hackintosh, and am doing it to the very end! heh. Though I admit I only install it on Intel systems these days.
