Hi @johnnyl your MOBO is Z790? Or GA-Z170X-UD5 TH

Your EFI show me that you are using i9-13900K

Ok I will change the SMBIOS to 20.2 and see how that goes. I still have my RX580 attached and not using internal graphics. Is it necessary to change when trying to update or clean install with Beta 3 ?

Yes, I recommend you using MacPro7,1 like im post updated for you unmark (uncheck)  Skip Board ID in Booter

Im always use fresh install because avoid activate File Vault (its sucks wait decrypt for 20 minutes)

About internal Graphics use only your RX580, disable WEG kext, just use after install if necessary

Disable intel igpu on BIOS (not left Auto), use Pcie RX 580 eGPU,  and add -igfxvesa if is necessary in boot args

Hi @deeveedee I upload my EFI folder. The main config.plist is config.plist. Let me know, please.

Thanks

Sorry for the late reply.  I see that you fixed it, but I don't see the reason why.  If you know why it now works, I'd be curious to know the problem.  I stopped looking at your EFI after finding these two possible issues in your config.plist:

  • csr-active-config = <00308000>: This is an invalid setting.  It looks like you are trying to set csr-active-config = <03080000>
  • SecureBootModel = j185: This may need to be set to Disabled for macOS installs/upgrades.

On Clover I use " -no_compat_check " ( boot arguments )

😂  But it has nothing to do with that on Clover there is no need
and on OC there is need

To boot with an unsupported smbios whether Clover or OC you have to use those patches / boot args

My motherboard is GA-Z170X-UD5 TH a Skylake  . I had to use a Comet Lake fake smbios for it to run Sequoia . So now it's another struggle. I will try your other EFI with 7.1 smbios.

@Max.1974

So you have no reason to apply that patch or boot arg ... whether with Clover or with OC :hysterical:

Your smbios is full supported in Tahoe

in my case I had to change with iMac20,1 or iMac20,2 (actually tested and they work, also boot with macPro7,1 😃 )

But too lazy to respond to Icloud..Apple verifies, sms in changing smbios

So I preferred to apply the patch and keep iMac19,1 ( not supported in Tahoe ) with my data etc.

Hi Anto65 how do you patch IMac19,1 ?

you shouldn't need them ( the patch ) ...they are both supported in Tahoe

Thanks for the file and the vid. Just like you I want to preserve all my Apple data if I can so so I don't have any id problems with the programs I have.

Hi folks, nice information about SMBIOS, but with all SMBIOS we can preserve data in iCloud ;)

@MaLd0n montou uma fera das galáxias!!! CONGRATS BRO!!

Maybe if, at the beginning of the installation, during the first boot screens, you run the command:

killall bird

And

cd ~/Library/Application\ Support rm -rf CloudDocs

Then restart immediately — after that, everything like SMS, iCloud, and all necessary services will resume fully functional, very quickly, and without any hiccups. It won’t freeze at all.

We talk here but we don't understand each other
No one claims that by changing smbios you lose your data (for me anyway it wouldn't be a big loss I have nothing on 😁 )

Simply by generating a new serial / smbios, you will have access (via the AppleId) to your data on your  account  iCloud ...

anyway

but rightly they see that you entered with another car ... then begin

hey but yesterday you had a fiat 500 today you are with a BMW, but is it always the same person? let me check a bit

please type the email and the password , that I have to identify you

and me, yes it's me here's my phone, send a text message with the verification code

... you'll see that I won't disappoint you  😂

To avoid all this ,  from repeating on all 4 OS I have on

I preferred to stay with my old smbios which I'm also fond of by now, among other things 😁

Ah yes, my brother, I do have two-factor authentication enabled — it's required by Apple. Yes, I understand. It really is a hassle to deal with. I only set it up on my work Hackintoshes. Perfect, I understood now!! Hahaha! Thank you!! :thumbsup_anim:

Good day my special kind of people 😁, can someone please advise especially @deeveedee as to why my hackmini is refusing to boot with MacPro7,1 SMBIOS? I want to try MacPro7,1 to see if it will resolve the no sound from Apple Music with MacMini8,1 😆

6 minutes ago, eSaF said:

If I may interject, no matter what SmBIOS you choose, that is not gonna happen in a month of Sundays.

For the simple reason Apple has completely altered how sound is now handled in macOS without going Into the technical details (not that I am in any way qualified to).

The only way at this moment to get back sound is through the official OCLP App, OCLP-Mod and I think I have seen another method?

But as you designated a more qualified person to answer your query, maybe they can point you in the right direction.

Cheers and Good luck.

Thank you for the response, but the sound I am taking about is not for the overall system sound (AppleHDA) and this issue I am getting only with Apple Music as I am currently using usb c for sound output. I also had the same issue with my laptop using smbios MacBookPro16,4 and I moved to MacPro7,1 which brought back sound in Apple Music 😁
