sazam
I'm trying to disable WhateverGreen for testing purposes, but can't boot without agdpmod=pikera. I've tried writing this within my config.plist file under Kernel -> Patch, but it doesn't work. Cyberdevs
@sazam agdpmod=pikera is a boot argument not a kernel patch, you need to disable it under nvram section 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 > boot-args, just remove it and it will be disabled. FirstCustomac
@CyberdevsI think agdpmod=pikera boot-arg allows WhateverGreen to patch AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext and replaces board-id to board-ix to disable boardID checks. I think op is asking how to that kernel patch manually without using WhateverGreen. Yes that boot arg is used with whatevergreen.kext to do exactly as you described but it's not mandatory for all GPUs for example my RX 6800XT doesn't required whatevergreen to work nor the boot args, so it's best if @sazam can explain more about what kind of hardware is used and what's the goal. 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361136-what-is-the-equivalent-oc-kext-patch-for-agdpmodpikera/#findComment-2832758 Share on other sites
Slice
In a case of Clover, if anyone interested, there in a setting in config.plist SMBIOS section <key>Board-ID</key> <string>Mac-FC02E91DDD3FA6A4</string> The value depends on graphics card. The key works without WhateverGreen. 4 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361136-what-is-the-equivalent-oc-kext-patch-for-agdpmodpikera/#findComment-2832759 Share on other sites
FirstCustomac
@sazam I may be wrong but manually doing the agdp patch had not worked since Big Sur due to changes in how kernel extensions are managed. 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361136-what-is-the-equivalent-oc-kext-patch-for-agdpmodpikera/#findComment-2832760 Share on other sites

Avery B
https://pikeralpha.wordpress.com/2015/11/23/patching-applegraphicsdevicepolicy-kext/ Edit: Didn't mean to post so soon! This is the clover patch originally proposed I think. Pretty easy to translate to an OC patch though if your look through the configuration.pdf!
