Hi,

I actually need to burn some CDs for the first time in years, and I can't get my drive to work.

My machine's specs:

  • Gigabyte Z270P-D3 with Intel Core i7-6700k
  • 64 GB RAM
  • macOS Mojave 10.14.6 running from a 1TB SSD installed in motherboard's NVMe slot, and macOS Monterey 12.7.5 on a 256 SSD installed on a PCI-to-NVMe adapter, all booting via Clover EFI revision 5149.

I tried replacing the drive with a known working unit, and still no go.

I must note also that the drive works fine on other operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) and the BIOS properly recognizes it, so this is not a hardware problem.  I suspect it may be due to the SMBIOS I'm using (iMac17,1), which belongs to a machine without any native support for a built-in optical drive.  I'm not sure why that would cause my problem, but I don't want to break things while trying other SMBIOSes.

My config.plist is attached, in the hopes that it may be of some use in solving this problem, which hopefully has a relatively simple fix.  Please let me know if anything else is needed.

Thank you!
