dHack
Is it ok to format SATA drive in external USB enclosure with Disk Utility, create 4 partitions (one for osx86, 2. one for my important data, 3. one for windows and 4. one for vista/leopold/linux/testing etc) with Master Boot Record partition scheme. Then copy the data to my "important data" partition. Now if put this sata drive to real hackintosh is it possible to install windows and tiger to their appropriate partitions so that my "important data" partition will stay intact? Thanks edit: The "important data" partition is in HFS+ in case that matters Edited December 14, 2006 by iflop Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35858-n00bs-question-about-formating-and-partitioning-the-hard-drive/ Share on other sites
JustAnotherIdiot
i dont see a problem to be quite honest with ya providing that you dont install OSx on that partition btw my suggestion is to make data directory Fat32 as both windows and OS can read/write on that Edited December 15, 2006 by JustAnotherIdiot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35858-n00bs-question-about-formating-and-partitioning-the-hard-drive/#findComment-255221 Share on other sites
Jeezoflip
No problem. Why not? Just make them in Disk util during mac install. Should work out fine. AFAIK osx can't handle the big files with fat32 but I can use MacDrive in windows to read HFS+ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35858-n00bs-question-about-formating-and-partitioning-the-hard-drive/#findComment-255403 Share on other sites
