BOOT Fail means that DUET couldn't find "EFI/OC/OpenCore.efi".
The format of your ZIP confused me a bit, since it's an EFI folder within an EFI folder.
I would make sure that the structure of your EFI Partition looks something like: "<Root of EFI Partition>/EFI/OC/OpenCore.efi"

Edit: The errors are explained in the Legacy folder in OC: https://github.com/acidanthera/OpenCorePkg/tree/b3d7e9f7cad6eed7b87566bb42efd8d7c8d4d3ad/Legacy#error-codes
Edit 2: Last thing to check is that the architecture (x64 or ia32) for both Duet and OpenCore match each other.

Hi,

Trying to boot opencore from USB EFI ESP on legacy bios system.

Version is 0.9.3

I follow guide from Dortania's OpenCore Install Guide.

EFI.zip 4.54 MB · 5 downloads

First, compare what you have in config.plist->UEFI->Drivers and what is in EFI->OC-> Drivers1.thumb.png.f23b0cae9fb8d1a0dfab25426dcfc349.png

Thanks for providing info.

I think that OpenCore.efi is where it should be. I don't know why the .zip came out this way. I am providing a screenshot for you to check.

I also removed the entries from config.plist to match what is in EFI->OC-> Drivers but doesn't seem to change anything.

Is there a way to check architecture for both open core and duet?

interesting:

there's a boot file at the bottom.  Why is it there? remove that file.

Two screen shots.

1 with yellow highlighter for the driver's that are necessary to boot

HFSPLUS.efi

OpenRuntime.efi

OpenCanopy.efi < gui mode

AudioDxe.efi < good to have so you know audio works on boot--chime--thus if no audio after boot, then config.plist needs some changes.

ResetNvram.efi < clears NVRAM out to get fresh data.

2 showing no 'boot' file at bottom of EFI folder.  <> although this is in Windows 11, using Explorer++ which shows all files hidden.

The boot file is normally hidden.  whereas it is clearly seen there. Should not be there to begin with.
It is in a totally different Folder and hidden.
