I have Ventura 13.3.1 running with OpenCore 0.9.2 (beta) and latest kext updates on a system with Z490 + RX580. Everything works correctly, Wake/Sleep, Wifi (with T919), Apple services, Airdrop, SideCar.

I recently jump from the RX580 to RX6800 (Sapphire). I have used the same efi only by adding agdpmod=pikera as boot args. The system boots and runs normally.

But I have found a problem. When the display turns off and wakes up, the system freezes. The same thing happens if I manually change the monitor inputs. If when it is off it goes to sleep and wake up, everything works correctly.

I have noticed and when it happens there is an error in the WindowsServer process and it seems to be associated with the card. After crash, if i wait some time, process restart and i cannot unfreeze the system

Do you know any solution or workaround? Or where could I start looking at the problem?

Thank you.

Just to clarify,

When you say that the display turns off, wakes up and freezes, do you just mean it just loses signal briefly?

Upload a picture of the WindowsServer error because I think I might know how to solve this problem.

The problem occurred in different options:
1. When physically pressing the power off button.
2. When the monitor lost the signal by the Mac turn off the monitor (with the option of the booster)
3. When switching input from DP to HDMI

@atomizasser

I add to the valid comments by @Fortitude and @Baio77 : do you have variable frequency in Displays panel? If it's so, change it to a fixed rate.

So far it has happened to me on a few occasions. I don't know how to fix it, but now it happens occasionally. I did an nvram wipe from opencore, upgraded to beta version of Ventura and set the Hz to 60hz. Any of these steps should have solved the problem.

Thanks all for your help. If I have the problem again, I will paste the screenshot of the WindowServer error.
