Hello all,

I'm a happy os x86 user, but I want to speed it up! I searched several sites (also the wiki) but all the tips 'n tricks i found, were for the 10.4.1 installation. Are there any patches or tricks to speed it a bit up?

Thanks

Perhaps you haven't updated your sig, but it says you're still running 10.4.6 with macvidia.

Upgrading to 10.4.8 (8.8.1 kernel) with Titan/Natit would enable CI/QE. That would significantly speed up your system.

Alternatively, if you've already done that, you can try enable Q2DE and disabling BeamSync. (search forums)

Removing caches from time to time also helps

in

/Library/Caches/*

/system/Library/Caches/*

¨/Library/Caches/*

at the same time remove kextcaches... and reboot...

On next boot it will take longer till all caches again but after that it will be a bit faster.

Remove AppleHWsensor.kext if you still have it in extension also helps a bit...

and

update_prebinding -root / -force also helps if you messed with some frameworks...

Try that

Might work, except an older card with small amount of VRAM - perhaps a video upgrade would help with snappy.
