Hey Guys :D I cannot get my ALC880 audio working with 10.4.8, I used the same method as I did to get it working under 10.4.7 but it dosent work, I have searched etc and no matter what method I try it simply dosesnt work!!

This is a fresh install of Jas 10.4.8 DVD, As you can see in my sig all my hardware is fully supported under

10.4.7

Anybody have any methods to get this working? Id be 100% gratefull.

Did you try the ALC8xx guide? The one attached to the Azalia link in my signature.

10.4.8 doesn't install Azalia by default, you had to select ii in Customize, then modify it and set permissions using chown and delete the AppleHDA.kext.

There is also an audio method starting to work that uses the new AppleHDA.kext in 10.4.8. You might be a candidate. It uses the same injection method that Natit/Titan uses. Follow the Audio link in my signature and at the bottom, find the AppleHDA project link. For this one, you delete Azalia.

Hi Ramjet, and thanks for the prompt reply :D

Yep I tried the both methods you suggested, I installed the Azaila package and followed the steps and rebooted, once rebooted Azaila complained it wasnt configured correctly, I have tryed this method a few times but to no avail.

Regarding the AppleHDA project I stumbled on that during my search and installed the AppleHDA V0.2A package and followed the guides, this also dosent work,

Once again Rammjet thanks,

Thanks for the info elviejo :) Ive just read through the whole thread and downloaded the AppleHDA.Kext from 10.4.3 changed the values, repaired disk etc.. only to find out when I restart a kernal panic screen pops up :(

Something about 4 potential stacks? (I cant post a screeny sorry my cameras battery is flat :(

Begining to think I should of stayed in 10.4.7 as all my hardware was set-up with no problems at all!!
