I think it's the biggest gain of market share for Mac OS since the 90's.

The intel macs now account for 20% of the market share, not bad for one year after introduction if you ask me.

But still I find 5.39 % a little disappointing, if only all those companies knew how their productivity would increase when switching to Mac OS........... :D

You have to take those numbers in with the numbers for all other companies selling computer systems (Dell, HP, etc). Remember, APPLE IS A HARDWARE VENDOR, like Dell is.

You'll actually find that small percentage somewhat good when compared against those numbers.

Absolutely, the HUGE market of Dell is amazing, BUT HP, Gatway, Lenovo, are nearly in the same area as apple...

So who control who? MS - Dell - Intel is a Symbiotic relationship just broken by the one wich is cooking the dishes.. DELL... Now Dell have started putting AMD on their budget and server systems, and they are still the "chefs at the kitchen". Thats why Dell would love to sell OSX in his machines, and thats why it would not happen. If that happened who will buy Apple designed computers at prime prices when they can afford apple like dells wich work in the same exact way but are not too good looking or cool ?

I think apple will use the intel platform as they never used Power PC, now more than ever is EASIER to switch.

i would love to see Apple Second only to DELL, i think 12-14% of the market share should be the real goal. Not too much to bring too many attention (virus and so) but enough to get bragging rights about being the Second and striving to be the first...

hehe being the second one can market yourself very good, look at HP, who will say they only got 11% of the market of PCs?

my two cents
