Tony W
I am using McAfee anti virus for the past three years never had a problem. Two days ago I was updating the anti virus suddenly the computer shut down. I tried to restart it immediately but it did not. After a while it restarted, for about 3 minutes and shut down again. It keeps restarting itself after 2-4 minutes for 2-4 minutes if i don't unplug it. i tried to start it on safe mode it does it on save mode as well. I don't know whether this is due to a virus or ; My keyboard was broken and i borrowed another keyboard, this happens on the first time I am using this new keyboard which i am not sure if that has done it. any ideas? MadDoggyca
Ir depends is the new or old keyboard wirless? I remmebr when I had a wireless keyboard first then switched to a wire keyboard it refueds to get past the boot screen.... so yes your keyboard may be causeing driver issues... as I doute it is a viruse cuz if it waz it would have had your pc long before now Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34665-winodws-shuts-down-after-2-4-minutes-viruse-or-the-new-keyboard/#findComment-246318 Share on other sites
bptba93
if it is a laptop, try cleaning out the heatsink and fan. Recently my toshiba was shutting off after 10 mins of use due to overheating, because the fan was covered in dust.
