Dear Admins and users

I have installed OS x86 10.4.3 on my eMachine 270 and it was perfectly running fine. and I did install it on my other Computer pentium 4 and it was running fine too.

but when I Tried installing JaS 10.4.6 and 10.4.7 and 10.4.8 Them Three they get installed fine but when they boot nothing comes up ? I tried re installing three of them and I choose the option for SSE3 and SSE2 for Intel and AMD and the patches. but still didn't work on both computers.

Could you please tell me what is going on Please People I am getting so sad I had Faith that JaS OS X86 Will work with my hardware. it installs fine till the End when I restart to see where I can put user name and password and Welcome screen I don't see none of that :P:D So Please Help me. Basicly it is not booting after installation so Please help. I have faith in you people come on.

You are installing it badly.

Click the little arrow to the left of the patches to reveal the individual patches. Select Intel patches, not AMD. Choose SSE2 or SSE3, not both, depending upon the capability of your processor. Choose the combo update to get the latest version of OSX. Choose other packages only if you are sure your computer can use them.

well I choose all of them lol so do you think that is the problem ? if it is please reply back and thank you so much for your nice reply Rammjet bless you.

how can you guys just go and select everything without doing a research first specially speaking of hackintosh...

donwnload cpu-z and check if you cpu has SSE2/SSE3 and select just one patch that matches your system (the higher the better of course)

That would most definitely be the problem.

Thanks brendankoch for your reply. So I have two computers One is eMachine with SSE2 CPU and the Other system is Pentium 4 with SSE2 and SSE3 so I just have to choose the option for SSE2 and SSE3 Right ?

thanks alot.

You should be able to tell from my reply that "choosing all of them" is what I mean by installing it badly.

I gave you the options to install and no where did I suggest to choose all of them. If it had, my posting would have been much, much shorter.

NO.

As I said above, choose Intel Combo update. Choose Intel SSE2 or SSE3 - sounds like you want SSE2 on one machiine and SSE3 on the other machine. Choose other packages only if you are sure your computer needs them.

And I am shore that I was not the first guy who has asked it. And now again.. I bet he has a copy of this text someware in his hackintosh, where he just pics up the text and pastes in here, when someone like me comes and has the same problem =)

guys i still had the same problem i did choose the right sse for my spu and everything i want and still not working after installing no boot i get a gray screen :thumbsdown_anim:B);) or blue screen of mac :( :( :( plz help

Having same exact problem.

I'm using the Jas 10.4.8 with ppf1 and ppf2 (Defiant.diskutil.7.ppf) and blacksoul.AppleNForceATA.afterDefiantDiskUtil.ppf (for my nforce4 SATA).

I told the installer to install all printer drivers.

All language fonts.

All language translations.

x11.

AMD SE2 and SE3.

Nvidia ATA.

NvidiaNv40.

I'm wondering if its the NvidiaNv40 driver thats doing it to me. I have all the other generic drivers turned off. Above is only what I told the installer to use.

After it installs and restarts, goes to apple loading screen, finishes loading, goes to a gray blueish screen (assuming this is for user setup) and just sits there. It does turn the monitor off after 10 minutes of sitting idle, so at least its doing something, its just not rendering the interface.

i am having a very similar problem to S1LEN7 D3A7H,

i have attached what i see as errors in picture format to this post. (i apologise, its only the first part of the panic, it took an hour to get to this point... if you need more, let me know). I am using JaS 10.4.8, + JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSe2.SSe3.v1p.ppf + Defiant.diskutil.7.ppf + Blacksoul's .ppf

I first tried to install on SATA Maxtors (two of them in RAID0) and found out that my nforce4 board wasn't supported, so i dug around for a long while and found the above mentioned ppfs and integrated them into my install dvd and tried to re-install.

i managed to get it to install on both PATA and a single SATA drive, however, it took about 18 - 24 hours on both drives. and when i booted into osx it would just hang at the grey apple screen. it was weird because it took so long to go through the startup into the install sequence, but when i went into the mac disk util during install, formatting the partition to HFS+ took barely any time at all, it was almost like there was nothing wrong with the install at that point. it was just super slow installing and it never started. i left the computer on for 24 hours and when i checked back it was still the same grey apple screen....

i'm thinking there must be something i have missed here. or maybe i put too many patches on. i'm just confused with where to go now, but i am determined to get this running, so i finally broke down and posted.

during the install i selected the same options as S1LEN7 did, and it all seemed to agree fine.

i was thinking maybe there is a problem with my dvd drive given that the disk util seemed to work at normal speed, the DVD is set to secondary master (ATA drive)

my specs are:

Gigabyte GA-K8NE nforce 4

AMD Sempron 3300+ (SSE2, SSE3 supported)

1024MB RAM

Nvidia Geforce 6600LE pci-e

2x Maxtor 160GB SATA

also 1x Seagate 250GB ATA (not currently connected)

NEC ND-3550A DVD+/-R/W DL

Vista

I am patiently and hopefully awaiting any help anyone can offer.

My JaS 10.4.8 SSE2 & SSE3 doesn't have the choice in the installer to take sse2 or 3, only AMD or Intel.. The installer says SSE2 and SSE3 aswell, but i just can't pick SSE2 or 3.. what's wrong?

Maybe, just maybe, i can make a screen"shot" of it with my digicam :)

Hey, I had the same problem...

if you all ready have OSX installed, the installer runs as an upgrade install. To select particular patches I think you have to do a blank install.

Same here, my copy of JaS 1.4.8 has a COMBINED Package for Intel SSE2 and SSE3. And yes, it is a clean install. No upgrade. It's still installing but I don't know if it's going to cause problems or not when it restarts, so I'm asking here. Do I need a different ISO?

I'm sure it's probably been addressed, but have you verified what partition scheme you're using for the drive.

When using diskutility to partition the drive, there are a variety of options to choose from (depending on whether your using the diskutility on the Jas 10.4.8 boot or one from a running OS X installing). For the most part, you want to see a "Master Boot Record" Partition scheme for your drive. Otherwise, it won't boot (I assume the BIOS doesn't know how to read the other partition schemes).
