Hi,

I'm trying to get a Mac OS 15.4.02 install working on the following setup:

  • Motherboard: GA-X99-SOC Champion (BIOS Version F23c)
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K (Haswell E)
  • GPU: XFX Radeon HD 7870
  • RAM: 1 x 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4

I reset the BIOS to optimized defaults and changed these parameters:

  • Windows 8/10 Features: Windows 8/10 WHQL
  • CSM Support: Disabled
  • EHCI Hand-off: Enabled

Followed the vanilla desktop guide for creating the USB installer:

Installed clover r5117 on the EFI partition with described drivers and kernel extensions after setting up the USB with createinstallmedia

/drivers/BIOS
    ApfsDriverLoader.efi
    AudioDxe.efi
    FSInject.efi
    SMCHelper.efi
    XhciDxe.efi
/drivers/UEFI
    ApfsDriverLoader.efi
    AptioMemoryFix.efi
    VBoxHfs.efi
/kexts/other
    AppleALC.kext (1.4.9)
    IntelMausiEthernet.kext (2.5.0)
    Lilu.kext (1.4.4)
    USBInjectAll.kext (0.7.1)
    VirtualSMC.kext (1.1.3)
    WhateverGreen.kext (1.3.9)
    XHCI-unsupported.kext (0.9.2)

I'll have the config.plist attached below.

When booting from the Install-Partition it will get stuck right after the "PCI configuration" => getFeatures(). Also I wonder if "rtc read failure 1 bytes from 180 E0002C2" from Lili might be an issue. After about a minute the log "apfs_module_start: 1689: load: com.apple.filesystems.apfs, c1412.101.1, apfs-1412.101.1, 2020/03/06" comes in and from there on nothing seems to happen anymore. Image of the verbose boot log is attached aswell. What do you guys think is the issue here? Is this some problem with the motherboard / BIOS settings? Or have I accidentally misconfigured Clover? I recently got a Hack running with a GA-Z97X-SOC Force and the i7 4790K together with the same GPU on OS 15.2.02. (Therefore the configuration was pretty similar as this time)

Thanks a lot for your help! :)

You should upload your EFI folder here

or look here:https://www.hackintosh-forum.de/forum/thread/45760-macos-catalina-amd-radeon-hd-7850/?pageNo=5

it seems that you habe starting problems with the XFX Radeon HD 7870. Read this post here. This user had similar problems. In the end, his graphics card ran successfully. He has uploaded his Efi folder.
