Embio
Hi guys, just installed OSx86 on a mates computer. Theres no great problems with the OS, it runs quickly and very reliably (first delve into OSx86, you guys have done an amazing job, really). However, the graphics aren't that fast. The machine has an AS Rock 945G-Conroe motherboard, 1GB RAM, 200GB Maxtor SATA drive and an ASUS ATI X1600pro card (512 RAM, only 256 detected). I've followed all the steps on the wiki under the 'speedboost' section, as well as the steps that it linked to. So now I'm stumped, any ideas? cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34419-pentium-d-950-performance-issues/ Share on other sites
sg
did you install Natit-ATI or use the method to get x1600 cards working in OSX? also check in 'about this mac' and 'more info' under 'graphics', if your card is fully working with drivers, you'll get something that looks like this : GeForce 7600 GT: Chipset Model: GeForce 7600 GT Type: Display Bus: PCIe VRAM (Total): 256 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0391 Revision ID: 0x00a1 Displays: SONY CPD-G400: Resolution: 1280 x 960 @ 100 Hz Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Supported Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz 2D Extreme: Supported Quartz Extreme: Supported Display: Status: No display connected Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34419-pentium-d-950-performance-issues/#findComment-243953 Share on other sites
Embio
Each one says they are supported apart from Quartz 2D Extreme, which isn't even mentioned. At the minute its just running with the JaS X1600 patch from the installation DVD.
