WizeMan Posted February 7, 2020 Share Posted February 7, 2020 Hi! I had an MSI Vega 56 Airboost OC on my system (found on my signature) and iStatMenus gave me around 35-40 W energy on Idle. Yesterday I switched back to my Sapphire RX 580 Pulse 8GB and I see around 75 - 80 W energy on Idle. Given the fact that: MSI Vega 56 Airboost OC 8GB has a TDP of 210W Sapphire Pulse RX 580 8GB has a TDP of 185W I am very curious about why the idle power rating is about double on the RX. My best assumption is that the RX needs more power in order to offer the minimal load under idle than the Vega does. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
