well it may not be exciting or special but i cared to share

i was getting bored so i thought why not to install tiger on my 30GB iPod, say as a live OS

sort of plug and play

so i attached my ipod

wiped it off as a mac journal drive and installed tiger on it (non trics involed) :D

and its working flawlessy

its just a bit slow otherwise its all good

oh yeah i m aware thtas why i said its not exciting

next thing could be keeping it as an ipod and installing OS X

what do u reckon?

 

 

This should be possible I believe, to make it bootable and still use it to play music.

 

Also, a caution. I read in a forum a few years ago that people were booting their macs off of iPods, (Jaguar and Panther at the time) and many people reported that it killed their iPod's hard drive after just a few boots, basically it's not recomended and it's much more intense on the HD than normal operation. Just don't want anyone to suffer the same.
