Shimms
Just to clarify - you've pretty much just installed OS X on an external hdd? Thats all an iPod is when you've wiped its HDD. toddicus
oh yeah i m aware thtas why i said its not excitingnext thing could be keeping it as an ipod and installing OS X what do u reckon? This should be possible I believe, to make it bootable and still use it to play music. Also, a caution. I read in a forum a few years ago that people were booting their macs off of iPods, (Jaguar and Panther at the time) and many people reported that it killed their iPod's hard drive after just a few boots, basically it's not recomended and it's much more intense on the HD than normal operation. Just don't want anyone to suffer the same. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34203-tiger-on-ipod/#findComment-242297 Share on other sites

Mark76
haha, cool idea man. It's a shame you cant just plug it into anything else and it would run. Maybe if they had the same hardware as you.
