Hey All,

I was trying to change a kext and had a bit of a stupid moment... instead of right click > Show Package Contents (then edit kext) I just double clicked the kext... it asked me what app I wanted to use to run the kext... selected textedit... and obviously it wouldn't load... problem is now the kext file type has been set to "folder", is there any way to change it back to how it was? I liked the kext icon and don't want them being displayed as folders...

Cheers.

Right-click on any kext and select Get Info

At the Open With... pop-up, select None

Then click Change All

I don't get that option :(

Oh well, re-install time... it'd bug me too much if I didn't!

Just in case you want to change your icon:

I already use this, it's a nice tool :)

Do not reinstall only for this!!!!!

Come on, Rammjet told u exactely what to do. It's simple.

right click on any .kext file you have in your system/lybrary/extensions/

choose get info when you right click

under "open with" choose "<none>"

and than click under the button "change all"

I did that... it *doesn't* give you the option to choose none.

Anyway, too late i've re-installed already. I have everything on my external USB HD, so it only takes like an hour to re-install everything.
