Hi all,

I seem to still be stuck with the same exact issue.  I got a great deal on a Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 4GB.

It still goes straight to black screen, even though the system is running just fine, as seen via VNC.  I was hoping a newer card would work better than my previous attempts with my 7950 and nvidia combo.  @MaLd0n, I appreciate your help over on Olarila when I was attempting this with the 7950.

Somehow it seems you guys were able to help @noisegate get everything working.

Any ideas for my BioStar x79 board?  What files should I upload?  Currently I am not using any DSDT.

Thanks much!

Cheers!

Here is the EFI folder I'm currently using, thanks to @MaLd0n and @Pavo's time and effort

EFI.7z

I updated AppleIntelE1000e

My board is also a X79, see if it helps

After adding New discrete GPU (SAPPHIRE Pulse RX 580 8GB ) and adding kext WhateverGreen.kext and lilu.kext recent update to efi/clover/kexts/other/ folder boot screen goes Black I tried 2nd step by adding to /Library/Extensions/ but same issue. On integrated HD 4000 works Fine.
Now How to fix THIS ISSUE ?

My system:-
OS MOJAVE 10.14.2
Z77 with i7 3770k
16G RAM
SAPPHIRE Pulse RX 580 8GB

EFI.zip

I don't have an iGPU but many RX580 owners reported they had to disable it

Thanks @noisegate.  I'll give it a try when I get a chance.

But to be honest, I got tired of trying to figure out the x79 system, so pulled out a Z77/3770k machine I had sitting around and went forward with that.

OMG, so much less headache ;-)

Everything pretty much came up on one try.  Although, DisplayPort does not seem to work on the RX580, but I am using the HDMI.

I didn't have to do anything, it was like installing Windows.  I just followed @MaLd0n basic steps for installing on Ivy Bridge, and viola, all good.

Sleep, power management, sound via HDMI, etc.

The 3770k is still a great chip and I am going to overclock the {censored} out of it to make up a bit for the 2 core deficit compared to the x79 machine.

New Specs:

Mojave 10.14.2

i7-3770k

BioStar TZ77XE3 Mobo

Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 4GB

240GB Kingston SSD

I'm still curious about the x79 EFI you provided.  I'll see when I can pull the GPU from the new build and try it on the x79.

I have done that too

For my Z77 mobo, I had to disable IGPU, set primary to PEG.  And also make sure CSM is disabled.

But for my Sapphire Nitro+ RX580, the DP port did not work.  I had to use the HDMI.  DP was giving me black screen.  DVI and HDMI work fine, even HDMI audio.

Here HDMI and DVI both boot to black.

I got my GIGABYTE RX 580 (Device ID 0x67DF) working with all video ports active, including HDMI, not only DVI like most users report !

Use Clover and configure the following:

a) Graphics: activate 'InjectATI' AND select Framebuffer (FB) 'Orinoco'

b) Kernel & Kext Patches: KextToPatch -> New entry (+) -> AMD9500Controller

Under 'Find' and ''Replace' use the following text (copy / paste):

Find:

000400000403000000010101000000001204060100000000

000400000403000000010201000000002205040300000000

000800000402000000010300000000001102010200000000

000800000402000000010400000000002103050400000000

040000000400000000010500000000000000030600000000

Replace:

000400000403000000010001000000001204060100000000

000400000403000000010001000000002205040300000000

000400000403000000010001000000001102010200000000

000800000402000000010000000000002103050400000000

040000000402000000010000000000000000030600000000

c) Put Lilu.kext and WhateverGreen.kext into EFI->Clover->kext->Other

All ports are being activated. If you switch ports, reboot is necessary.

Hi, everybody. I have a problem with RX580 Pulse, DP port does not work (HDMI work). After downloading the Clover, the first boot screen with Apple logo, and at the moment of switching-mode get black screen. If you immediately switch to HDMI you can see the login window. Installed kexts Lillu and Green in kext/other. Changing SMBIOS to 14.1 17.1 18.3 does not affect the result. Changing in Clover RadeinDelNit on/off does not affect the result. If i remove green from system hangs within 5 minutes after load. Green enables Radeon FB and correctly determines the number of ports. Forced on FB Orinoco does not help. My RX580 Pulse has 2 BIOS (113-4E353BU-O50/113-4E353BU-TSE).

I can not turn off the CSM mode, the BIOS goes to reload and turns it on again.

I made patch AMD9500Controller, but did not helped.

System Mojave 10.14.3

ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-G GAMING (WI-FI AC)

i7-8700

RX580 Pulse

Where to find the reason?
