I tried to do a dual boot w/ OSX86 and ubuntu, but something went wrong, and now I need t have the OSX DVD in the drive and ignore the "press any key to begin installation" to be able to start OSX, if I don't do that, I get a grub error message.

Is there a way to restore the Darwin/OSX bootloader?

BTW, OS X is in a separate HD, by it self

What is the error message ? Can you write is down and post it here, and could you also give us more details about how your HDs are setup and paritioned ?

Is the partition which contains GRUB the first to be loaded in your BIOS ?

Can you still access Ubuntu ? Have you tried re-installing GRUB ? (It can be done using a livecd if you can't access Ubuntu but is quite tricky if you don't know how to do it.)

I have this exact same problem. I get a Grub Error 17 error message. Can I install grub from OSx and setup my duel booting from there?
