Hi,

 

I have problem with Handoff working on Hackintosh.

I am logged to iCloud on both devices, but in general settings still I don't have option to switch on Handoff.

I found out in my system report that My bluetooth donge doesn't support handoff (highlighted text), but it seems to me that is not true.

Similar issue here. Everything was working fine (using a Fenvi WiFi/BT card), then suddenly, some services stopped working. I can't figure out why; only recent change was the latest update to Safari and iTunes.

 

Running 10.13.3 (17D47) and patched Nvidia 104.

 

System Profiler still shows Handoff as Supported and lists the channels used, both in WiFi and Bluetooth.

I tried:

  1. Logging out and back into iCloud
  2. Logging out and back into Messages
  3. Toggling the iPhone and MacBook Pro
  4. Using BTContinuity kext mentioned above
  5. Using BTIOFamily patch
  6. Deleting the BT plist stack
  7. Deleting messages related preferences and caches
  8. Running mald0n's Olarila.command
  9. Toggling BT and Wi-Fi on and off
  10. Reseting NVRAM
  11. Rebooting

Now, Airdrop works. I see the hackintosh on the other devices and conversely. Bluetooth devices work (keyboard, mouse), and Wi-Fi works. I can access the App Store and make purchases.

 

What doesn't work is Handoff, Continuity, and Messages. I have searched forums (which is where most of the steps and patches came from) and am running out of ideas.  :wallbash:

 

Do any of the wizards have some magic to share?   :cry:

I had the same problem and the way it worked for me is: turn off handoff on both hack and iphone and then log out of i cloud on both your hack and your phone and restart both, and log in to i cloud on your hack first and enable handoff, next log in to i cloud on the your phone and then enable handoff. this is how it worked me good luck

Thanks. I thought I had tried that, but tried again. No go. What did finally work was not fixing the Hack, but fixing the MBP and iPhone. Updating the MBP to High Sierra solved everything. I now have Handoff, Continuity, and all that.

Conclusion:

OSes must be of the same "family" (High Sierra) to be sure. [I was fine with Sierra on MBP and High Sierra 13.3 on Hack, but 13.3 broke it].
