NosajTrah
Ok so I have my Hackintosh working fantastic (specs in signature) but I am always looking for more power. My motherboard will take the i7 3770 which will double my thread count. I was wondering if I am able to just swap the CPU like in a normal PC build or if I have to do something special because it is a Hackintosh? Thanks for the help. Dwarfy
Hyeya , No you don't have to do anything special for swapping hardware, unless specific drivers or some are added to MacOS, or injected. In this case you can swap the CPU, nothing wrong with that. If you have generated SSDT for PM, then delete it, or save it somewhere else and regenerate it. That is all. Hi, not sure what this means, I used the beasts for the setup, not sure what this is you are mentioning. Dwarfy
Hi, not sure what this means, I used the beasts for the setup, not sure what this is you are mentioning. Hi NosaJTrah, I suggest you read the rules, we don't support the install method you used. Regarding SSDT for Power Management, if you don't know about it, then you should read about it. Assuming you didn't use it, if you don't know about it.Might also be that you are using it, but you don't know whether you are or not. And when one use such tools, you used to install MacOS on third party hardware, there is a big tendency for users to not know what they are doing. Disregarding this fact, even if you have SSDT for PM,it initially won't do any harm at all. But you can check if you have it, in EFI/Clover/ACPI/Patched. mitch_de
Yep, you only must do something (as said in last post) if you not use Clover Pstates / C States generation (Speedstepping + Powersave States) and use for that an ssdt.aml file - mostly generated by an script. You will remember that fi you use that ssdt.aml mad by an script. Second, i dont know if the iGPU type change by that cpu change - (you can look at intel specs if igpu has same type, name). If changed and you use some IPGU specific config in Clover ypu may have an look in this config section if you must change something. I dont have an iGPU in my i5 so i dont know about that exactly. EDIT: I looked in the intel spec. iGPU type will change from Intel® HD-Grafik 2500 to Intel® HD-Grafik 4000. HD 4000 is much more better + compatible to OS X than HD 2500 for my knowledge. I dont know if you used HD 2500 already or not.
