theconsumer1
Hello, Forgive any intertwined rants in this post, as I'm about fed up with my hackintosh. It's been down for two weeks now and nothing seems to be working in my favor. THE STORY: My build ran 10.12 beautifully. No issues at all... When 10.13 came around, I thought I would give APFS a go. Ran for a couple months now with usual hiccups here and there. No KPs. I was prompted with an update 2 weeks ago. 10.13.2? I can't remember. Well, macos updated WITHOUT me knowing. I returned to my desktop to finish my work without checking the build number. Didn't anticipate any problems. Well, my system kept logging me out or shutting me down with no kernel panic. Randomly every 20 minutes. So, i thought maybe the update didn't install. I noticed a new partition in boot menu "install mac OS from mac ssd". Ok? Why is there a new partition? Whatever. So I tried booting into it. Got the infamous error "Mac is could not be installed... OSinstall.pkg is missing or damaged". Finally, I got fed up and wipes my install. Attempted reinstalling 10.12. Copied all my WORKING 10.12 config fikes and everything. Well, the install went fine. But SAME ISSUE. Reboots and logging me out in 10.12! So, I went BACK to 10.13 installer. Wiped the drive. Attempted NO APFS install. Normal install mac OS extended. The installer will finish ans restart the pc and return to boot screen whwre im prompted with the typical "insert boot media". This is because my bios isn't set to usb. Thats ok. So, I reboot into usb. Boot inti the partition "install macOS from mac ssd" to finish the install. As soon as it loads i get "mac os coukd nit be installed... OSInstall.pkg missing or damaged". WTF..... SO, I figure maybe the original apfs format has a weird partition that's messing up the install. So i put the drive into windows ans format to ensure its clean. Went back into 10.13 installer. Wipe the drive again extended journal And so fourth. When the install reboots, I go back into the "install mac OS from mac ssd" partition in clover and boom. Same result. Mac os could not be installed... THIS WILL NOT END. *tried removing 1 stick of ram *no hardware changes since this problem. *exact same working config files for 10.13 that I ran flawlessly for months. *10.12 config files were also flawless and ran on this system for months. *no changes to smbios *this {censored} makes no sense. About fed up. I appreciate any and all help I can get. Very close to turning to the dark side.... yes... Windows 10. Yuck. I used terminal command "Date" to change date. Reinstalled. And still no luck. I have attached both EFI folders for my clover install medias (10.12 and 10.13) Thank you DOWNLOAD: https://www.dropbox.com/s/a9s2p7fty4qajxv/theconsumer1.zip?dl=0 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/330854-out-of-options-confused/#findComment-2554570 Share on other sites

Also boot into BIOS and Load Defaults and use recommended BIOS settings listed below. Changes I made: Files added and Removed: Removed patched DSDT/SSDT: Clover can patch DSDT on the fly and no need for SSDT for CPU PM anymore has native CPU PM. Added all needed kext in EFI>Clover>kexts>Other Config changes: Removed all DSDT fixes: Not needed for your system specs. Added DSDT re-names. Removed all SSDT CPU PM Generation: Not need with PluginType=1 and PluginType=Yes. Removed USB Injection: Not need with USB limit patch. Fixed SMBIOS: Was missing key things in SMBIOS section. Recommended BIOS settings: BIOS Features: Windows 8 Features>Windows 8. CSM Support>Never ***Note*** This item is configurable only when Windows 8 Features is set to Windows 8. Boot Mode Selection>UEFI Only Peripherals Section: Initial Display Output>PCIe 1 Slot XHCI Mode>Enabled Intel Processor Graphics>Disabled EHCI Hand-off>Enabled GA-Z97-D3H.zip 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/330854-out-of-options-confused/#findComment-2554651 Share on other sites

theconsumer1
Pavo, I really appreciate your help with this problem... I was able to successfully install MacOS High Sierra with your config files... So far, so good, will update you if any problem occur.... One thing i just learned: BAD RAM STICK. My PC will no longer boot with second 8GB ram stick in any DIMM slot. So, I suspect some of my issues the past two weeks had to deal with that bad stick.
