It must be about your SATA or PATA controller drivers. What type of hard disk do you have? Which kexts are installed for the controller chipsets?

Also, run Xbench or Geekbench and look at the hard disk performance benchmarks.

Those benchmarks where very bad for harddisk, somehting like 5 points or so. It's an old Western Digital ATA hard disk btw that could be the reason maybe. (couldn't use my main SATA drive because there no drivers for it) And I don't know which kext it uses how can I see that?

Copying anything is very slow btw, 300mb takes like 10 minutes :( Maybe it's just time for a new harddrive. Wish I could just use my SATA drive.

I'll test it in windows, see if it writes that slow there too. Maybe it's just something about a driver from osx.

Now I've come to think about it, it can't be that the drive is broken or so. Because when I boot up with a osx dvd an install from there, it copies like about 3GB in just a little over 10min so it can write fast. So I assume it has something to do with the drivers in osx. I have an ati chipped motherboard, so I guess my PATAcontroller is also ATI so I'm going to install the ATI.ata fix on the JaS 10.4.7 dvd maybe that helps.
