Darryl
Hi, I am using X86 10.4.6 I had 10.4.4 I think, and both times when I booted up, I can not move the cursor, or the keyboard. It loads fine, I get to the part where you pick your language. The system specs are: AMD 4400+ Dual Core DFI Lanparty SLI DR Exper 2x1GB Samsung DDR 400 ATI X800 GTO2 Viewsonic VX2025 20.1" Wide screen LCD On the Wiki for 10.4.6 it says Everything works except Marvell chipset LAN. http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.4.6 So does that mean I should disable it in the bios? I recall reading, that you may want to disable your network, and sound too. My cursor works fine when I try it on my Duo Core Toshiba Laptop too. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Darryl Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32951-x86-hangs/ Share on other sites
cardinal
Try turning legacy USB support on or off, if there is such a setting in your BIOS. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32951-x86-hangs/#findComment-232266 Share on other sites

Darryl
Okay I got it to work, I didn't find anything about USB legacy, it is a pretty new motherboard though. I did disable the USB controller and used a PS2 Mouse and Keyboard which worked fine. Now when I pick my language it goes, and I get to Select a Destination "Select a destination volume to install the Mac OS X software." I have an IDE Maxtor 200GB on the Secondary Slave, but I can't see it in the OS X setup? My bios see's it. I'm trying to dual boot with Windows XP Pro SP2 also, but I have unplugged my windows drives at the momment. Any Ideas? I will try to move it to the Primary IDE Channel right now. phor2zero
above the installer you will see the apple taskbar. select utilities and disk utility. (i think) in disk utility select your drive and erase it. give it a name and choose mac os journaled. exit disk utility and install Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32951-x86-hangs/#findComment-232790 Share on other sites

It does not show my DVD RW, or the IDE Maxtor 200GB Does it matter whether the drive is a Slave? I just tried it with my DVD RW, and it worked fine, but it only shows the DVD RW, and not even the DVD Rom before? Can mac's handle more then 1 drive per IDE? I only have my 200GB on the IDE cable, but I don't have a jumper to set it for master right now. I suppose I can borrow one from a DVD Rom , that is if I can get to it from the inside Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32951-x86-hangs/#findComment-232798 Share on other sites
