PascalW Posted November 11, 2006 Share Posted November 11, 2006 Hello, on my 10.4.8 system with semthex kernel (AMD) my screensaver doesn't work. If I go into system preferences -> desktop and screensaver -> and then click test on one of the screensavers it does work perfectly. But it just doesn't start when my computer is inactive. I talked to semthex about it and he said there should be a fix for it from back in the maxxxus day.Does anyone know about that? Can't find anything about it... Thnx in advance! Download17 Posted February 15, 2007 Share Posted February 15, 2007 HEY DUDE!!! I have exactly the same problem. I could test the screensavers but they won't turn on automatically. I also have the same problem with OSX putting my monitor to sleep after a certain period of time... neither will work... If you figure out what's wrong... PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!... Ar3s Posted March 10, 2007 Share Posted March 10, 2007 I am having the same issue. This is the 3rd hackintosh I've built (10.4.6 JAS), and the first one with the problem (all on Intel 945 with Pent. D820, GMA950 and Sigmatel 9220). I first suspected that the wifi device was causing "activity" and keeping the screensaver from coming on, but sleep works fine, so I dont think thats the issue. I've not had a chance to go remove the wifi card (USB) and try again though. Have you guys made any progress? I'm considering a script that will just provoke a "test" if I cannot figure out the true source of the problem. I've been searching around the forums for days and all I've found so far is this thread and a few other 6 month old threads that nobody is responding to... argh! .... For some reason I have a feeling that there are many more people who have this problem than it seems...hmmm... oh well... any help is welcomed!!!!... thanks Oh yeah... I just delete these two files in Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost: com.apple.HIToolbox.00195b54062d.plist com.apple.print.Cache.yournames-computer.local.plist Thanks, elmetal!
