:| Well, I have to add my voice to the chorus thanking Taruga... I've just successfully used version 1.16 of the patcher to get an Intel D945GTP motherboard's onboard Sigmatel 9221 to work under 10.4.10.

A couple of notes:

-I used the uphuck 1.3 DVD to install 10.4.9. Do NOT use the "Azalia Audio" patch from this disk on this motherboard - it appears to work after installation, but no sound whatsoever is output from any of the jacks, even though OSX seems convinced that it has a working audio solution in place :D . Running the 1.16 patch if this Azalia patch is installed, results in a kernel panic on next boot.

-I installed the OSX86 10.4.10 update afterwards - audio continued to work.

-There are two skus (configurations) of this particular motherboard - one with Sigmatel 9223 audio, and one with 9221. The former has 7.1 connectors on the rear I/O panel; the latter, 5.1.

I've attached my codec dump for reference.

This board runs OSX very nicely - all subsystems (LAN, gfx, audio) are now working, with full acceleration where necessary. Yay! :-)

So once again - thanks Taruga, you're an OSX86 star!

My motherboard is also an Intel D946GZIS and the audio output does not work for me only shows in-built speakers. Please help me out.Using mac os x 10.4.8.

I need an ioreg -lw0 > myioregdump.txt from one of those systems with Intel D946GZIS (after patched)

send me the output file

Whenver I type it nothing comes up....... only my name.

Type:

sudo -s

(write your password)

type:

ioreg -lw0 > /mydump.txt

(it will create a file named mydump.txt , you will see it on the disc, send that file to me)

ioreg -lw0 > /mydump.txt

Is this the way to get the codec#0 dump with a linux liveCD?

The dump that I need for the patcher.. cos I have a SoundMAX 1986, but the 1986 dump on your page doesn't work..

I had audio on the internal speekers with the Azaila drivers, but then I aplyed the pach and had no control over the volume, and the sound was gone.. I reinstalled the driver and then I had stereo on the speakers.

So I want to make my own dump, but I don't know how:)

and downloaded STAC9227 Datasheet

i just changed my applehda.kext mic configuration to 7 27 21 12 and speaker config to 10 2 so my sound preferences look like this

finaly my MICROPHONE LED is ON but the input level indicator doesn't show any input ;)

i think that it has somethink to do with 24 (0x18h) INPORT0 VOL but i don't know to add it's node to kext

Hello,

Got a short question, any hint on getting line in/out on front pannel to work?

Made linux codec dump, both pins are mentioned in it ([Jack] Mic at Ext Front and [Jack] HP Out at Ext Front), but no sound comes through HP in front (its separate connection on mobo, it works under linux). Besides that everything is working.

mobo: GA-M59SLI-S5 (ALC888)

os: 10.4.8 JaS + semthex nd 2_3

alc888.txt

EDIT: managed to get them to work by editing Info.plist from AppleHDA, if anyone have same mobo and need it pm me.

frantisheq your dump adds line out support for my sound card but sadly gives no option of output....^_^ there is hope with Taruga's and other member's help I'll be able to get the sound working in the coming days hopefully....:P

i don't know what's your current line-in node # but try to change it in AppleHDA.kext's Info.plist to 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 or 17. hope it helps

Okay I do get your point in changing how do I go about editing this info.plist file? Any help will be highly welcomed ^_^

i don't think i'm the one that can help you but what i did was

In terminal:

cd /system/library/extensions/applehda.kext/contents

sudo nano Info.plist

then edit and restart that's all i can tell you but be sure to backup your AppleHDA.kext

Ok.. I made my own dump.. but after the aplyed pach I get the same result as with the dump provided by the author. I cant change the volume, and I cant hear s*..

I have azaliaaudio drivers instaled, and with that I get sound from the notebook sepakers, but i would like to have sound form the airphone jack...

Can anyone help?

Does anyone have a solution for the Realtek ACL850???

Realtek ALC850 AC97 - CHIPSET INTEL ICH7

/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAC97Audio.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext/Contents/Info.plist

Get Info

Abra o arquivo Info.plist no TextEdit

No arquivo Info.plist localize as seguinte linhas:

<key>ICH2 AC97 Audio</key>

<key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key>

sudo -s

chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions

chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAC97Audio.kext

cd /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAC97Audio.kext/Contents/PlugIns/

kextload AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext

Atenção: Não precisa restartar o OS X, vá em System Preferences e localize a opção - Sound.

em Output volume, habilite Show volume in menu bar

Anyone had any luck getting 10.4.10 to either stop saying there's a sound patch available, or get the ALC888 patch to co-exist with it?

The kext version of AppleHDA hasn't changed, so presumably it's checking at least one of the files within.

It's only a cosmetic issue, and I'll have a play later on to see what I need to alter to shut it up...
