onofre1981
Hi. Im on Sierra 10.12 on haswell g3260. I changed my serial number on my config.plist to hopefully enable imessage but i keep on having problems booting with NoCaches - Yes. The config.plist attached are the changes id like to use as it contains the edits to change my serial. But if i boot with the following clover options selected, i get a message that i attached. After waiting it out, it'll give me a black screen with responding keyboard (i can still turn the capslock on and off as indicated by its indicator light on the keyboard). Here are the clover 4045 boot options i tried that leads to black screen: -verbose - i check use nvida web bec i installed it and im using gt710. Please note that the vesa and nvdiaweb options both work on my current setup. -verbose -use vesa or use nvdiaweb both gives black screen - i check xcpm -Boot using selected options Those selections would give me black screen after giving out the picture i attached. Im forced to hard reset the PC to turn it off. If i boot with the above selections replacing the last option with "boot using injected kext", all is well, but the serial still remains the same. Also, i boot using clover installed on my lone hard disk. Efi/clover/kexts/10.12 and /other only contains fakesmc and realtekrtl8111 kexts. I removed the nullcpupowermanagement kext after i managed to make speedstep work using ssdtPRGen. Please help. my_configs.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/326488-getting-black-screen-when-booting/ Share on other sites

TrustAugustus
Your Plist is corrupt. If you used textedit, do not. Use xcode or plisteditor. Reupload, please. onofre1981
Thank you for reply sab4. That my plist is corrupt might be the problem. I tried opening it with plist editor and it complained about some json error. Using plutil on the command line confirms it. The only thing left to do was to repair these plist. However, Even if i open them with plist editor as a raw file, I still do not know how to correct the mistakes in it. And that is what I want to know how to do once my configs are fixed. Do you know of any IDE in windows or mac that can visually help me in repairing my plist? Probably one with syntax highlighgting, or anything with visual prompts to help me see syntax errors? TrustAugustus
Sorry, I don't know of any. It is likely that it'll be easier to recreate it from scratch. What kind of hardware do you have? It shouldn't be too hard for us to get a fresh one up and going. Gigamaxx
Nvidia gt710 only needs inject Nvidia for clover settings no web drivers needed, they may be causing the issue. Gt710 has native apple drivers. So disable igpu or CPU graphics in bios and use inject Nvidia only. This works for my G3258 Haswell pentium with GT210 card. I changed Serial number, UUID and MLB. Try it if it works check the numbers and keep or change them. config.plist 2.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/326488-getting-black-screen-when-booting/#findComment-2486726 Share on other sites
