djwonderstick Posted October 5, 2005 Share Posted October 5, 2005 dont know if this is a hardware or app issue, so i'll put it here for now, but if necessary, please move i have a dell truemobile 1350 miniPCI wireless card using the Airport trick to get wireless working. whenever using AIM (perhaps internet in general, but its only noticable when using AIM), including iChat AV, after leaving my laptop alone for a few minutes i seem to get disconnected from AIM and as soon as i go to view my buddy list, it logs back on...anyone have this same issue? or know whats wrong? thanks in advanced ::edit:: now i know it definitly has something to with wireless...not just aim, but all wireless shuts down whenever i go afk for a few minutes Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
dafatkid27 Posted November 4, 2005 Share Posted November 4, 2005 well im not so sure, but im on a (wired) network, and my iChat disconnects if i i don't type something for a little bit and sometimes wont even log back on. its ticking me off. Justin R. Posted November 5, 2005 Share Posted November 5, 2005 Does your computer go into standby mode after several minutes? My laptop shut off the hard drive and it disconnected me from everything until I moved my mouse. Make sure you uncheck the sleep the hard drive option in the Energy Saver preference panel and it might fix your problem. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
