timothyo
Ive downloaded the new JAS 10.4.8 DVD (the non corrupt version) and I cant even get to the install screen. I have a gigabyte 965P-S3 motherboard, and an E6600 CPU. When I connect my DVD ROM to the SATA connector, via an adapter, I get the 'no smoking' grey screen, (The grey apple with the no smoking symbol in the middle) and thats all. Using VMware, I get a kernel error even before it gets to that point. Is anyone running a similar setup, and if so, how did you get it working? ChuckDSanders
Dude press F8 before you are loading and type -v -x so you start in safe mode with the debug mode on as well. The -v will allow you to see all of the things loading and you should be able to see where it is hanging. The -x will enable safe mode. This might help you out. I haven't been able to get mine to boot either, however I am going to burn the disk at a lower speed when I get home.
