Tom Snow
So after many problems over the last few weeks I FINALLY got my five-year-old Hackintosh running Sierra. Only problem: no sound. The computer doesn't detect any audio devices. My hardware is a Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3 mobo with Intel Core i5-2500K, and under Mountain Lion and Yosemite I used the Realtek ALC889 codec. I should add that when I installed Yosemite I had this same problem, and to fix it I had to install an old driver that was made for Mavericks. That was using the post-installation tool from that other Hackintosh site; I'm trying not to use anything from there for my Sierra installation. I used Kext Utility to install AppleALC and Lilu, but this made no difference. My computer also won't accept DSDTs; every time I've put a DSDT in CLOVER/ACPI/patched, the computer always kernel panicked on boot with "expected 4 threads but only found 5 for die 0." So, I don't think a DSDT is the solution.
MaLd0n
Check if have device HDEF in ur DSDT table, just check if yes, just inject id here if dont have, rename device _ADR 0x001B0000 to HDEF BTW, UR OLD DSDT HAVE SCOPE _PR EDITS, I THINK IF U POST ORIGINAL DSDT HERE, EDITS WORK
Tom Snow
Success! I downloaded Clover Configurator, opened config.plist with it, and made exactly the change shown in your screenshot. I have audio now! There was a problem at first: when I first rebooted after changing the configuration, the sound worked but objects on the screen flickered, and the computer froze up while playing a video. I rebooted again, and now everything works fine.
MaLd0n
if u dont use a full solution, DSDT, use Clover essencial patches in ACPI tab, lIke pic, tmr, rtc, hpet
