Hi.

I'm new to all this.

Now I've some questions.

Are there any howtos for kernels. I've read something about some people having semthex kernels and more, but what are the advantages of switching kernel? Which kernel am I running? When my uname -a says:

Darwin mariusz-cieleckis-computer.local 8.4.1 Darwin Kernel Version 8.4.1: Tue Jan 3 18:23:53 PST 2006; root:xnu-792.7.90.obj~1/RELEASE_I386 i386 i386

You are currently running the kernel from 10.4.4. These new kernels have only recently become compatible with x86 PCs and will give you the latest kenel (8.8.1) from 10.4.8. There are several compiled out there. Mifki's code supports only Intel systems with SSE3, HPET and with or without NX. However Semthex is working on a more compatible kernel which currently supports both AMD and Intel but STILL REQUIRES SSE3! NX and HPET are optional and SSE2 support for both AMD and Intel is coming soon.

Looking at your specs you are SSE2 so sit tight for a while until the SSE2 version becomes available!
